Maia is a fantasy novel by Richard Adams, published in It is set in the Beklan Empire, the fictional world of Adams's novel Shardik, to which it stands as a Author: Richard Adams.
It took some time for me to determine exactly why I didn't like this book. After all, I deeply loved Shardik, set in the same world, and Adams writes some damn good furniture-of-ironforge.com why didn't Maia do it for me.
In re-reading, Shardik, I realized what was missing in Maia: Maia was a character that observed and experienced, but never furniture-of-ironforge.com presence triggered major events, but only seemingly by 4/5. Jun 29, · But I just finished my second reading of this book (and it's over 1, pages).
This book is a loose prequel to Mr. Adams more well known title, "Shardik". It's not necessary to have read Shardik to enjoy Maia, but after reading this title, you'll want to track that one down as well (or vice-versa).
